V belt/serp question
Well unfortuantly after much debate I decided to not use my serp setup from an Iroc. I decided to run just regular v belts on my 84' 350 sb(cost did not outweigh the improvement and hassle.) Having to buy a reverse rotation water pump and reroute everything was starting to give me a headache. Now however I was wondering would that mess up anything in the electronics? An original serp car going to a v belt setup. The car has power everything and I will be removing my AC. Would I just need a higher amp alternator or am i SOL?

Re: V belt/serp question
so what really are the benifits of a serp setup? does it outweigh the hassle of trying to figure out how to get it together?

Re: V belt/serp question
The reason I went serpentine is because of the hassles I've had in the past keeping v-belts on and keeping them tight. On my current setup I regularly wind the engine up to 7500, and the serpentine stays put. From past experience you have to have the v-belt setup lined up DEAD perfect if you plan on seeing high rpms. With the serpentine, all pulleys are attached to plates that bolt to the heads and engine - eliminating most alignment issues.
