Re: car is deiseling
wow no wonder
slow the idle down
why is yours 18 degrees initial ?
it needs to be wayyyyy lower, more like 8, in stock form anyways
unless its not stock cam and so forth ?
whats the specs ?
good luck

Re: car is deiseling
Are you running your vacuum advance on full vacuum or ported? Full vacuum would give you a lot more timing at idle, ~30*, so that'd cause it.
Carbon buildup in the chambers can do it.
But yea, that's a fast idle speed. Not sure what the exact specs are on that cam, but with that much idle timing you should be able to back it back off. Pop off the carb and measure for a .040" vertical gap between the throttle blades, and the bottom of the idle fuel slot. ie. you should have about .040" of the slot showing. Adjust it until it is.
Then set it back on the car and start it up, adjust your timing to get about 800RPM idle speed in park, and readjust your idle mixture screws.
Drive it around for a bit. See if it diesels then.
What plugs are you using? What gap?

Re: car is deiseling
i fixed it by turning my timing up to around 32* at idle no vacuum hooked up

Re: car is deiseling
That's gibberish man.
Your problem is 2 fold, too high of an idle speed, having the butterfly's open too far, and too much timing at idle. Crank those down and you'll be golden.
