Crane 2050 Compucam for 305 LG4?
I have an 86 305 LG4, automatic, all stock, daily driver.
I'm getting an all new exhaust system installed.
I'm thinking of getting a better cam at the same time. Would it make sense to put in a Crane 2050 Compucam? If so, what else do I need to change?
Would the new cam give me better performance? Would it cause any problems with emissions or the computer?
Or am I better off with the factory cam?
Thanks,
John

I ran that cam with ported World heads. You'll need more stall - mine stalled at 2300, 2800 would have been more like it. But, passed emissions with a fresh tune-up with no problems.
It will really wake up the car.

Thanks, 57kid...
I don't know about stall...so if I have my mechanic put in the new cam, and do a normal tune up, it should be fine?

It'll be a dog off the line.
You need a torque converter that lets the engine rev higher on take-off. "Stall" refers to the RPMs that the engine will rev to with the transmission in gear, holding the brakes, and pushing down the throttle - the RPMs the engine gets up to is the torque converter "stall speed".
