Sure you can, i'm running the CS144 on my car with V-belts, that's the factory 140A one.
Lemme find you some info here;
Check my thread;

this might help

Most of those links are in my thread there. There's also one link (that I can't find) that came from a website that sells alternators, and it says what year vehicles have the CS144... '92-'95 Lumina and Pontiac Transport vans have them, it's an upgraded option. I got mine from a JY for $50, and a free resistor I stole from work. Thing seems to be working A-ok.

Re: serpentine alternator on a v-belt
i just finished putting my system in my car, and everytime i turn it on , e.g. my headlights blink, the sound fades in and out, this happened with my last car, i got a bigger battery for the car, that didnt help much, so im figuring a new alternator will keep the battery fully charged, in addition to my hyper voltage system thingy...
oh and thanks for the tips this is great

ugh, i'd skip the cap completely. But check out the audio board, they've got more guru's there. Usually "the big 3" is all you need. But that depends on how huge the system really is.
