crank but no start
hey guys i got a 355 sbc pretty built double hump heads. roller rockers cam headers scat crank H beam rods MSD igniton and dizzy.........
I pulled the oil pan and timing cover to replace a gear drove with a double roller. I set the double roler up with the crank dot at 12 oclock and the cam dot at 6 oclock. and the dizzy was pointing at number 1 cylinder.. Now it will crank but not start. It didnt even act like it wanted to fire so i advanced the dizz a little and now its trying and poping out the exshaust. What could this be any ideas?
thanks

Re: crank but no start
well sounds to me like your timing is screwed up.... but then again your flux capacitor must be out of whack also with the new double roller...

Re: crank but no start
It def. sounds like timing to me. Just turn your "dizzy" counter clockwise enough till it starts and adjust timing from there.

The flux capacitor allows you to time travel provided you hit 88mph. That way you don't have to wait for lightning strikes.
PS if you go back, buy some shares in IBM. If you go forward, tell me if I ever got my car started, or died trying.

Re: crank but no start
70 gm... i have to say that is the best answer I have heard in a long time to that...
okay here is the best way pull the dist. get your timing chain off align both dots at the 12 0'clock postion put the chain back on then stick the dist. back in with the rotor pointing as close to the #1 terminal as possible then get out the timing light and set the ignition timing
right now you basicaly are 180 off
