xe268 or crane 2050
I've got a cc'd 84 trans am HO w/700R4 (stock converter) and 3.73's. I'm rebuilding a 350 with about 9.3comp, with either vortech or s/r torquer heads. I want to keep all emissions intact, unless I get the vortech heads which don't have egr. I need to pass emissions, so i may go with the s/r torqers and have some porting done. Anyways, here are the cam specs:
crane 2050
duration at .050 int/216 exh/228
lift int/454 exh/480
xe268
duration at .050 int/224 exh/230
lift int/479 exh/480
What do you guys think?

I had the 2050 back when it was a 305 instead of the current 350. It passed the dyno sniffer without problems. Needed about 2800 stall, I had 2300.
I think I'd go with the XE268, though.

what type of intake mods do you will you have? I had that cam(xe268) in a 383 vette '79 carbed, and for the relativly short duration it will rev. trick flow 180 cc twisted wedge heads and a3.55 gear it went mid 12's shifting it around 6700. youll love the power it will make if you give it a big enough intake!

The performer RPM clears fine. I'm using that with a q-jet on top in my '82 TA with powerbulge hood. But the stock air cleaner. So if you stick with that height of air cleaner, it'll fit.
