man i think im in trouble " milky oil"
I took off my valve cover today and i saw that the top of my valve cover was covered in milky looking oil but when i looked on the rocker arms it wasnt that bad only a few spots had it...... well i know that i have a water leak some were in the internal part of my engine i just replaced my driver side head gasket and i replaced all my gaskets on my intake.... the only thingi can remember doing wrong on my intake gasket was not putting any silicones around my middle collant passage..... the only other thing i coould think happened is my passenger side head gasket......
Basically is there any way of telling which one it is leaking my head gasket or intake???????? please help any one... im bout ready to give up

pull the intake if there is a water leak there you will be able to see it on the gasket.

Chevy man, before you freak out, check one simple thing. Im sorry if it sounds stupid but you never know.
Check the oil on the dip stick, how does it look? Then do an oil change if ur not certain. DO NOT START UP THE ENGINE to warm it up. Just drain it as is, because everything has probably settled. Examine the oil that comes out carefully.
If its not choclate milk, you may just have a simple case of over-filled oil, which is now aerating, and becomes a bright colour. My buick used to do that, and youd see a very bright brown coloured oil on the fill cap, and few rockers. It was frothy almost, and Its a sign of aerating.

Do you take short trips? Could just be condensation. Happens to all of my cars now and then.
