So my new hood doesnt fit...

Well, the intake on my car is more than even my 383 build needs... AND it wont let this gorgeous hood fit:

So here is the engine:

Sans air cleaner:

And with the 750 Holley carb removed...

So... ANYONE NEED AN INTAKE ( Weiand X-CELerator Intake Manifold Part# 7546) FOR A CHEVY SMALLBLOCK? lol

Re: So my new hood doesnt fit...

that filter is unnecessary. get a shorter element and adjust hardware accordingly.

I just don't like the looks of Firebirds with cowls... Camaros can get away with them, IMHO.

Add in the fact that I can get a new intake for less than a hood and you see my plan of attack...

Go ahead and get yourself a K&N filter element, you'd be suprised how much the 2" elements flow. Like 5678TA said, a dropbase filter housing helps really well.
