Ok I think something is bad wrong.
i had a bed tcking on # 6 intake rocker i reset my valve lash yesterday . It ran great then I went on the interstate and then went to the dragstrip and it starting ticking loudly, and check it again and try tight it again and it start making a louder sound and so i turn it off and put it on a rollback took it home anyone have any ideas if it has a falt lope or the lifter has failed?
----------
and i check the pushrod its fine
----------
no oil coming out of the rocker arm hole

they are hydraulic flat tappets? you have to much preload on it you need to align the crank so that the valve is completely closed then tighten the rocker til it is just barely putting pressure on the rod then a full turn more but less is better anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 is good

or there is something between the valve body and plunger take it apart and clean in solvent dry with air

if its a solid, then sounds like premature lifter/lobe wear.. if it keeps going on any longer, rebuild..

well then the lifter has probably colapsed you need to replace them all and i would probably swap cams now too as you are already gonna have to take it apart

cam and lifter are gone.. do a full rebuild.. just to make sure.. if the bearings are SMOOTHE, then you can reuse them.. if there is any sign of abnormal wear, change them.. any metal shavings, clean out the block..
