spongy gas pedal?

Car: 1982 Berlinetta Camaro
Engine: 2.8 Litre
Transmission: not sure/tubro hydramatic 208?
Axle/Gears: not sure
spongy gas pedal?

when i apply the gas pedal it feels spongy after i apply a little pressure. not sure what might be causing this, anyone have suggestions?

It might be adviseable to check the throttle cable for signs of damage, and inspect the throttle return spring. The throttle shaft bellcrank might also be loose on the throttle shaft, so check that as well.
