113 heads flow?
How much cfm stock do they flow compared to the 083s that are on my car now?
Im planning on a top half motor rebuild this winter for my car. Most likely ditching the TPI for LT1 and throwing in a LT4 hotcam with 1.6RRs. Along with full exhaust.
Other then the weight savings and heat transfer is there any advantage to the 113s?
Is it worth it to just do a little pocket port with the 083?

I believe the biggest gain of the 113s is the extra point or so of compression you can run on the aluminum heads. Of course this doesn't play a rule unless you plan on running a thin head gasket or swapping pistons to take advantage of this.

extra point of compression you said, wouldnt i be losing some compression with switching to the 113s since they have a smaller cc? Also smaller the head gasket the smaller the compression? Do i have it backwards...maybe im not understanding it correctly.

If you want the power of an Lt4 motor you'll want to do more than a lil pocket port on either the 113's or 083's.
They both flow about the same stock just under 200cfm.
Lt4 heads flow about mid 230's stock and you can get that from either these TPi heads but will need more than a pocket port. Think full porting. Don;t be a wimp. get in a get dirty. lots of info here on porting stock sbc heads.
Any where over 230cfm will get the job done. Don;t fret the numbers. Its the overall job that counts.
I' assuming your doing a LT1 intake mod on a gen 1 TPI block.

ya, i just really wanted the 113 heads...but im gonna be tight on money.
If i dont get those heads ill most likely bolt up the LT1 intake and 1.6 RRs (yes gen 1 block) then do the heads/cam together when i get more money/time.
I dont know im too indecisive.
Thanks for the help.
