I put one of these kits on my 82 Z28.

It is a bit pricy but I did not want to deal with going to the junk yard and then having to clean up everything. It was very easy to install but I have not figured out what I am going to do for a clutch fan yet. The serpentine setup spin the water pump in the opposite direction as the v-belt setups.

It is a standard kit off most late modle GM cars and trucks. On top of it all you get a new water pump, power steering pump, AC compressor and all of the hardware.

I know that kit but its like 600$ .I can use the money for other stuff that is more important right now . I did not know about the fan spining in the opposite direction (intresting) so I would have to go with electric fans .Not opposed too ,but like the clutch fan its simple .What about marine motors I have heard that some fire in the opposite direction (anny truth) I wonder if thay have some sort of fan ?
Anny other ideas on getting a TBI(carb)STB brace on thier ,other the throwing my A/C over the the hill out back .

I assume that you are talking about a 2 peice crank seal?? when you say 2 peice block??? As for bolting on a sperpentine system I just swapped in a 1980 reworked 350 4bolt main into my 90 gmc that originally had a 1 peice seal. All of the mounting brackets and pulleys lined up without any hassle. Just an easy parts swap. As far as I know all small blocks have the same bolt hole locations except for manifold and Older head styles. A serpentine system out of a camero or pickup should work for you depending on your application. They are easy and cheap at the wrecking yards.. Just my 2 bits

Sorry I also forgot to mention to get the right water pump for the system you will be using. Some are reverse rotation and some are not. And yes you should still beable to use a mechanical fan as long as its the right rotation as well.

The manifold bolts are what had me through for a loop . I know on the one peice crankseal blocks ,the maifold bolts , bolt strait down in the head. Opposed to the angle of the older heads .Thanks I will have to keep my eye out for one that spins in the way .

RocBoy, Perma-Cool makes a high performance reverse rotation stainless steel flex fan you could try. Depending on size, they range from 29.99 to 41.99 at Jegs. Part number 771-86150 is the 15" fan.
