I went and talked to the machine shop that did all the machine work on the engine for my 86. Anyways, they said they could build me a 425hp 383, H Beam rods, forged pistons, scat crank, arp throughout, dart heads etc for about 35-3800. Thats for the long block, I'd still need the intake/carb/dizzy etc.

But does that sound decent? I'm going to have them build me the engine this tiime since I don't have as much spare time as I did with the 86. I'll still install it and all that stuff.

Also plan on a th400 with 3000ish stall and a 150-200 shot after everything is set up. 12 bolt is also in the future.

Anyways, hows that sound? I plan on the 89 being a weekend warrior, want to run deep 11s and be able to drive it to the track and car shows etc.
