Help me strange problem
Ok sunday I was out cruzin and decided to jump on the highway to open the car up, I got on the highway in second gear at about 40 mph (3000 rpm give or take) I jumped on it jammed third and got up to about 80 where I let out of it and put it in 5th gear to just cruise then as if for no reason at all my engine dies so I pull off to the side and try to restart it but to no avail.
So after a tow home (and 90 bucks) a start tinkering with the car The engine turs over fine and has spark and as much fuel as it did before (thought cheap stealthram regulator may have been bad) but wont start so I half assed check the valve timing to make sure the chain hadent broke and that seemed to be ok so I tryed starting it again and it backfired as hard as Ive ever heard one (blew my muffler clean off)
So obviously something is out of time but how nothing changed since the last few times I had drivin it I was thinking its either the ecm timing set ignition timing itself the pick up coil but what do you guys think I dont think its the timing cause my dizzy is really tight ( on lockdown ) and if it was a pickup or ignition module wouldent spark be totally dead?
Let me know what you think thanks in advance

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Sounds like a classic module failure to me.
Do you have BIG THICK SNAPPY white/purple sparks, that look about 1/16" thick or more; or little weenie barely visible blue/orange ones about as thick as a hair? The latter won't jump a spark plug gap with the added "insulation" effect that results from compression, even if it looks like you have spark with a plug at atmospheric pressure.

They didnt seem as strong as usual so that coule\d be it but I thought when the module went out it was completely dead with not even a spark in open air but I know they are prone to going out and the high compression from my engine Im sure doesent help it
