Comp Cams 3 Piece Timing Cover

I'm installing a Comp Cams 3 Piece Timing Cover and the instructions are a little vague. Has anyone installed one on their engine. It seems that my block needs to have 2 holes drilled in it for all the bolts to fit, my block doesn't have holes by the water pump on either side.

I haven't done the 3 piece, but the 2 piece, which is pretty similar.

These are the holes I was talking about, circled in red. They would hold the cover onto the block when the other pieces are taken off.

Those holes should be in your block.

I just went and checked and yep, I don't have those holes. Seriously. I guess I'll have to drill and tap the holes. I'd like to take a pic, but I don't have access to a digital camera. That's odd.

What kind of block are you using?

It's a Gm factory roller block:
10243880...350...95-00...2 or 4...Vortec truck, Gen.I crate motors and "ZZ4", roller cam, one piece rear seal

Has 2 bolt mains, 1 pc. rear main seal, factory roller set-up. I don't know why those holes are not there, they just aren't.
