Cam question
TPI with rpm heads, edelbrock runners ,1988 intake.
Had a rpm cam in car for 10k miles, removed and installed smaller cam.
Still have cam but no lifters. If I reinstall the cam with new lifters, is there a chance of wiping a lobe? What lifters do you recommend?

reinstall the cam, with standard break in procedure, cover lobes in moly lube, same with bottoms of brand new lifters. Rev to 2000RPM for 20 minutes.
You might wipe a lobe anyway, kinda luck of the draw. Not a very high chance though.
lifters are lifters are lifters, I have no brand loyalty for those. Summit's are cheap as borscht.
RPM cam eh? I might recommend a different cam, to compliment your TPI setup better. Do you not like your "smaller" cam and you want to re-upgrade to the RPM cam?

haha, definately get some stuff to match your fueling system!
Why get components made to create max power at a higher RPM when your induction system cant do it!!

computer.1.5 rocker rollers. msd ignition.rpm heads.edelblock runners,
24# injectors, block huggers with 2.5" duel exhaust.Ford 3.55 rearend. The 700r has a transgo shift kit, vet servo and governor .Shifts at around 5200 rpm.It now has comp xe256h 212-218 This setup ran better with a tb400 trans and the rpm cam before they were replaced.
Thanks for any help.
