The guy I got the car from said it was a 383 stroker ( it's a 355 ) he said it was a comp 292 ( I have no idea what it is ) . I can't find any thing on the cam end but z010 or 2010 on the gear end ( the distributor end ) . There are numbers on the cam between the lobes . I know they are just dont help ,well I dont think so any way . Some one help me if you can I am lost . I know it loped pretty hard and had a range some where about 2000 to 6000 RPM atleast some where in there . I you need any more info please ask and I will give it if I got it . well, if we trust that guy, then it's a comp magnum 292H

244/244 @.050, 292/292 advertised
.501/.501" lift

look for 122133 on the cam, (maybe with dashes).

planning on keeping the cam? (hope you kept the lifters to the lobes...)

Thank you for the reply though . Any suggestions on a good cam combo let me know. What I meen is , is comp cams the way to go or dose someone have any other preferance like crane or some thing ?

Pick the cam by the desired specs, not by the company that makes it (just stick to one of the major companies).

Try calling up a few companies and see what they suggest.

I had found some of the lifters were mest up ( the push rods had beat them up ) I gess the valves were run very loose at one point in time . I am not going to keep it any way . I am going to atleast find out what lift it is for future reforance .

I am not going to keep the cam , but I am going to find out what the lift is just so I will know . It might help me pic a new one . I did not mark the lifters because I found a few that had been damaged . I gess he had ran the valves very loose at some point in time . These lifters dont have cilps they have a very strainge plate that is fit in and only cut out in the very cinter were the push rod sets in it . I have never seen any like this before .
