Various wires/plugs, can these be removed?

ITEM 1 This wire goes through the firewall and connects to this relay/device thingy shown in the picture. What does this do? Can it be removed?

ITEM 2, 3 and 4....There are all plugs that come out of the thick wire loom on the passenger side of the firewall...these plugs do absolutely nothing...can i cut the ends off and cap them with a wire nut?

ITEM 5 What does this do?...can it be safely removed?...can i remove the tubes and plug the ends?

ITEM 6 These 3 (yellow, blue and orage) wires appear to be the power supply for the heater box....does that seem right?...if not, what wires shown in the picture would supply power to the heater box?

What i did was take the entire dash out. Then i traced every wire that i didn't need and unclipped them all from the wiring harness. I ended up only needing one wire for the oil pressure sender. So i pretty much pulled 10lbs of wiring out of my car and really cleaned everything up.

Get yourself a Chiltons manual, and check out the chassis electrical section. In there are the wiring schematics for the car. When you find a wire thats not connected to anything you can look it up in the schematics and see what it does.

tahst what i always do, dont suspect something is wrong until it is, if something dont work, then you fix it, hook up what you think you need and leave the rest for if ya need it, afterwards cut all the excess out. makes it alot cleaner and you might give that old third gen a pound to loose. she'll love you a long time for it.
