Intake gasket restrictor questions for 89 305 engine ???
Pulled the TBI intake from the 89 305, this intake has the rear water crossover unlike older small blocks, and of course I did not pay attention to where the water restrictors were for sure, but I think one restrictor was on the driver rear and the other on the passenger front. That would feed the heater outlet at the passenger rear the most water, however if that was the case, I don't see how the passenger head cooled very well as the passenger outlet near the thermostat would be restricted.
If the water restrictors were both at the back of the block, I don't see how enough water can get through those tiny holes to feed the heater, the holes are only large enough in my opinion to let some coolant flow to get the air out.
I have looked at intake gaskets and cannot figure out which ones to use on this. Can anyone explain what gaskets to use and how this works ???
Thanks

I would think the restrictor would be on the drivers side, pushing against the heads. Doesn't your heater run off the front?
Sorry i have never owned a tbi.
