Stock with a little massaging around the rails if necessary

A stock pan works fine. But as stated You have to massage it a bit. The area we had to massage is the big flat baffle that covers most of the bottom of the pan. To check it just put it on the engine and turn the crank over a couple of times. you will see where it hits. Where ever it hits add clearance. Use the method that works best for you. ie cut and reweld, bash with a hammer etc.

I used a massaged stock oil pan as well. I had to replace one of the hex head pan bolts with an allen head since I was no longer to get a socket on a regular bolt head.

it looks like the whole counterweight at the front of the engine is scraping along the bottom of the pan. im afraid if i bash it in, i will distort the lip at the front.

use a gouge chisel on a 2x4 to create the shape you want in the pan,set the pan on the 2x4,and have at it with a ball peen hammer.go easy and reshape the metal over the area many many times.tap,tap,tap...........etc.my pan is already painted so i will be using a few shop towels between the pan and wood to try to save the paint,if not,oh well,i'll touch it up.remember,if the engine is already cleaned and assembled, wipe the counterweights and pan down after each rotation!
this idea just came to me,but it should work just fine.
i'll be doing mine in a few days if you want to wait for pics.
i've got a spare pan to practice on and will post the results when time and energy permit.
