What cam for my combo?
I am going to upgrade my cam because i am going to run nitrous next season and was debating between three cams and was wondering if anyone could help me out?
First of i am running a 355sbc with stock rods w/ arp bolts, stock crank, forged pistons, 10:1 compression, dart iron eagle 215cc heads, 1.6 aluminum rr's, holley stealthram, 58mm Holley tb, 42lb injectors, gs340 fuelpump, full msd ignition, accel dfi, built 700r4 w/3500 stall probably going to switch to a th350 or 400 soon. strange 9" w/4.11's and 28x11.50 slicks, the car has also been lightened quite a bit too.
I just added a nitrous kit and am planning on using a 150 shot but my current cam is a little small for me and want to switch to a dual pattern. The cam i have now http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
These are the three cams that i am choosing between( unless someone has any other suggestions)
comp cams nitrous cam http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
lunati cam http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
lunati voodoo cam http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
My car is basically a weekend show car that i race regularly so i am not too concerned with it being extremely streetable, but i do want it to preform well n/a also.
Thanks in advance, Tim

Car: 1986 Olds Cutlass Supreme
Engine: 350
Transmission: 200-4R
Axle/Gears: good question...
I have a Crane PowerMax Hyd. Roller 234/242 .539/.558
3000-6500 powerband, bad *** idle, dual pattern so its good to use nitrous with, and GMPP sells it under there name for cheaper.
I have TFS heads and a Holley carb, TH350 with 3500 converter, no dyno numbers yet though. Makes great power and is still streetable

thanks for the reply. Yea that sounds like a good cam, the only thing is that my block is a non-roller and i dont want to shell out the money to have it converted.

the Lunati Voodoo looks good. Just be sure your valvesprings are up to the high lift.
Degree in this cam and advance it a little further to a 103-104 intake centerline. This will help get the exhaust out while on the spray and give a good torque curve with a hard launch while running N/A.

TPIS has a cam called the ZZ9-X that they told me would work good for nitrous. Plus alot of their cams are designed for a short runner intake like your stealth ram. I use their ZZ-409 with their Mini-ram intake, 1.6 pro magnums and its pulling hard way past 6000 rpm.
