removing/rerouting coolant hoses on 87 IROC
Starting next weekend, im planning on doing a good cleanup on my engine bay, removing some unnecessary things and hoses.. painting a few things and polishing valve covers, plenums, etc
i seem to have a LOT of coolant hoses on teh passanger side of the motor, covering most of the valve cover, .. i have some new steel braided hoses that i want to put on, not the fake crap i have ont here now,a nd was wondering, WHICH HOSES can i remove...
-i dont need to use heat on the car, as its only a spring/summer driver, so i have been told i can bypass and eliminate the hoses going to the heater core..
there is also a black box that seems to function as some sort of rerouting center for some coolant, and a few plastic black exhange centers..
my question is basically, can anyone that has done it before, or really knows cooling flow , tell me which hoses i can remove, or reroute so i can have minimal hoses above my valve cover, and a cleaner look..
pictures attached, i hope

The two hoses that go back into the firewall go to the heater core. If you say you don't need heat, you can remove those and run a hose from the throttle body right back to the radiator and your coolant will just run through the engine and not to the heater core. The rest of those hoses you have numbered I believe are part of your emission system

All you really need is an upper and lower radiator hose. PLug the radiator nipple which would go to the firewall and also plug the nipple on the intake manifold.

sounds good,
yea i put that ugly fake steel braiding on when i was like 16, (5 years ago) thats why im sick of it,a dn want to remove it all, along with unnceessary hoses
any advice on how to do the PLUGGING? what kinda plug should i use, any adhesive, etc?
-im going to work on the hoses when i go back home to NJ in a few weeks, so i'll let you guys know how i madeout
(i havent seen any weires going to any of the black boxes, so i assume that there are no sensors involved, which would mean that if i disconnected the units, no codes would pop up, or problems would arise from it)
correct???
