Winter storage tips?

The car is going to hibernate all winter. What should I do to get it ready? How should I store it?

When I did mine I changed oil, put little gas in the tank, took baterry out, waxed it, cleaned it inside, locked all doors and put a cover on it.( unless you have a room in your garage.)

Full tank of gas will keep condensation from rusting the inside of the tank.

I was told also that Rotella oil for diesel trucks sticks better to cylinder walls. It won't hurt anything to try it, I did last year.

Something simple, take your sunvisors and place them straight down, like the sun was in your eyes. Gravity will cause the fabric to sag if you leave them tucked in the upright position all the time. My 92 convt visors are sagging a little, sucks.

I agree, I use mine once every 2 weeks at least. When I'm not driving it I put on my waterproof car cover and lock the doors. Leave the handbrake off too, as it may sieze otherwise.

You can't beat using them.

If your going to park it on a concrete slab put some plastic down. The moisture from the concrete will attack the frame. Normally its got to be parked for a long time in order to see anything, but I wouldn't risk it...

Concider having your car rust treated.
The oily type, but not oil based. like Rust Check or Crown. Leave it all oily all winter.
then wash it with soap and water in the spring. Really protects your car against condensation. Animal pests won't like it either.
