It looks like antifreeze, but its coming out around the manifold!!

It looks like antifreeze, but its coming out around the manifold!!

ok i went to change my oil today and noticed around the manifold there was what looked like antifreeze and a white bubbly substance. i almost thought something got stuck there and my have melted, but i noticed a little green liquid as well what could it be, and what can i do to fix this

If it looks like antifreeze, it probably is. It flows through the manifold and thermostat so it could be leaking anywhere. Where exactly did you see it?

basically its just coming out of the right corner of the manifold. i just want to stop it before it becomes a problem.
oh yeah beutiful car by the way i like the contrast of the grill and the car it looks sweet!!

I'm not sure what kind of engine this is, but if it is some sort of a small block chevrolet (well, actually lots of engines have some problems with this too...), it is not uncommon to have the intake gasket leak coolant at the corners (especially OEM craptastic paper gaskets ). The paper gasket material will deteriorate over time and cause some coolant to seap out at the corners of the intake manifold where it meets the cylinder head. If that is the case, you will want to do an intake manifold gasket replacement to stop the leak. If the leak isn't that bad, you may be able to just let her buck and keep an eye on the coolant level and topping it off when needed.

And if you aren't sure what the fluid is, give it a taste!! Coolant is yummy.......

If its leaking, its already a problem, no stopping it now.

Sounds like you need to replace the intake gaskets.
