battery voltage....

alright htis is prolly a stupid question and jut me not paying attention....but here it goes. usually my battery meter guage sits about in the mid point, well when nothiong else is on and i brake or stop it still sits there, but when i turn on the AC or heater or radio or ne thing esle and i stop, it dips down to a little biut abouve the red line and the idle seems low too, also windshield wipers and blinkers are slower at a stop to, whut could be casuient hedip in the voltage? or is this normal?

Do you have aluminum drive pulleys? Do the headlights dim at idle?

If not, I'd check the alternator first. They aren't too hard to pull and most places will test them for free.

It may be a loose belt. But if it's new and the right size, it's unlikely.

This has happened to me on every car I've ever owned. The gauges dance around at idle and the healights dim of flicker. It's always the stubborn alternator for me. It's a good place to start.

(guage or gauge or gague. gayje how do you spell that word? none of them look right.)
