Crankshaft heli coiled , bolt slanted

Just want to share my lil problem. My crankshafts balancer bolt broke off when I was tearing it down( trying to turn the crank). I usually just have it on a sturdy table for tear down. This time it was on an engine stand. Well now my balancer bolt is a tiny bit slanted and out comes the crank so I can rectify the situation. I did not heli coil it, I sent it to a local machine shop that S**ks ****. They probably did not put it on a lathe(almost sure of it) and I kind of have an idea as to how they did the drilling I could just put it on like that and I'd say there's a 50/50 chance I will not get a nasty vibration. But I will more than likely take the crank to get put on a lathe(different machine shop) and go the next size bolt up.

Yeah it could be worse. What really irks me is that I wanted to get this engine in by the end of this following weekend so I can spend some time with my little ones. My work and" hobby" have kept me busy . Hey , but if I have to I'll have them little girls pick up a wrench and help out so we can spend some quality time together.

All sounds too familiar, I had the same problem with my 1st 454 someone ruined the crank threads with the pointed balancer puller tip. Helicoiled it and it was fine. Oh and quailty time with the girls...I know all about it I have two myself and yea get`em involved as soon as there old enough
