alright, so who here has actually modified a stock tbi intake to bolt onto stock carb heads, L03 engine and 4416 heads specifically
what did it take and how did it go
gimme details of how you modified the center holes of the intake
what tools you used, and so forth
cuz i have to do this in the very near future,
i have no way around it now,
i cant trust the 187 heads i am 100% sure they are either cracked and/or warped due to having been run hot plus lots of water in the oil pan
this mod cant possibly be THAT hard to do
thanks for any info

I had water in the oil from bad intake gaskets. If theyre stock intake gaskets, theyre probably bad.
I also blew a head gasket with the stock 305, but that was after I got angry at the motor and drove it for awhile with no coolant.

lol @ angry
i know how that goes
i smashed my first computer a few years back due to anger :P
it happens i guess lol
yeh do have water up on intake in front corner driver side
so hmm
im trying to make sure that tbi gasket failure can cause water in the oil and burning of water on all cylinders(every spark plug is very water washed)
how do you get these tbi intakes to seal good around the water ?
well it doesnt really matter anyways- as i am yanking the crap L03 2187 heads off and putting them in scrap iron pile in favor of a pair of 4416 heads i have here, so..
so that leads us back to my original question in this thread lol
how to get the middle bolt holes to work :P
thanks

wow i was out pulling more parts off so i can get intake off and when i went to crank the engine by hand to set it to #1 tdc, the engine was stuck at first, i had to bust it loose with the breaker bar 1/2" drive, it only been sitting not running for about a month and a half
some nice green antifreeze came out of number 5 spark plug hole,,
hmm
now does that sound like an intake problem ?
or no ?
lol.
i drove this oen home, iyt didnt run too bad for burning water either
but if it goes after i get all this done ill only have 50 in the whole thing, so ill just put in the good running 82 caprice 305 bottom end that i have
thakns for anything further on this
