Oil Cooler?
I have searched a lot, but I keep finding things about the stock style oil cooler... I'm interested in an aftermarket oil cooler.
I have been looking at this one from Summit:
Combo Oil/Tranny Cooler
I need a Tranny cooler before I get everything back up and running, and I keep thinking an Oil Cooler would be a good thing for my engine also. I haven't decided if I should just buy a dual circuit cooler, or if I should just buy a Tranny Cooler alone.
I live in a warmer climate (I don't see temps below 40* very often and I most likely won't be driving during these times anyways) so do I have to worry about over-cooling the oil? I like the fact that the oil cooler comes with a filter relocation kit, this seems like a nice convience.
So does it sound like a good idea? I mean any cooling help I can get has to help me out somehow, I believe 1/3 your engines cooling is handled by the oil, so cooling the oil will only keep my engine cooler right?
Should I go for it, or is it not even worth it? Could it be a bad idea to run this? You can see in my signature what my engine will be. I also plan on running synthetic oil for the life of the engine, no more of the conventional oil.
Any input is appreciated, it seems there's not much info on the subject.

go to a junkyard and see if you can find an oil cooler from a 86-91 mazda rx7. very efficient oil cooler and much better design then this tube setup your looking at prolly a lot cheaper also. it is used in a lot of oil cooler swaps or addons in various other cars.
only thing is you would have to work out the mounting of it.
here is a picture of one
one thing I will warn you about though is they are prone to cracking on the end pieces. but it is a VERY SIMPLE fix if you can or know someone who can do some welding..
and if nothing else a junkyard rx7 oil cooler and taking it to a place to have it welded would prolly be cheaper then 100 bucks
