Bad Thermostat?
This car is not being nice. First the timing thing (which I still haven't figure out) and now there's coolant leaking from the uppper rad hose. The upper hose gets hot and then leaks at the end of the hose where the thermostat housing is. Lower hose stays cold.
Symptoms of a dead thermostat?

More to come..... (hey, i dont got a job yet)

Its really hard to ruin a thermostat, if you suspect it may be bad, consider it bad and replace it. Its a ten minute job that costs five bucks. I would just check to see if the hose is secure though.

Unless I'm very confused (which could be) the engine coolant flows from the thermostat, through the upper hose, through the radiator, and back to the engine via the lower rediator hose.
Something's not flowing. I doubt it's the thermostat, but since it's the cheapest and easiest thing to check, pull it out and see if you get flow restored through the system. If so, you just got lucky; get a new thermostat.
If not, head for a radiator shop!

Is it really that order?? I always thought it went from the radiator to the upper hose to the thermostat thru the engine then out the bottom. But then if the top gets hot and the bottom doesnt......?
