When its cold in the morning (well not really cold yet say 45-50 in the morning i can turn my key over to where you can hear the fuel pump relay click then if i go to start it turns over goes vrommmm then shuts off. If I try to start it again right afterwords I have to pump the gas and pump and pump till it finally starts. When It does start if I hit the accelerator in park or drive as to rev the engine it kinda stutters like it misses or somehting but any other time its fine. Its a 87 camaro 2.8 mpfi
I'm pulling a code 34 and have been although tapping the sensor has no effect and I can also unplug the maf while the car is running with no effect :-( odd if you ask me but then again it might work with out the maf hooked up. I don't know if I can help you, but I have some possibilitys, mine does the same thing, but not on a cold start it could run for a while, goto a stop sign, and quit as soon as you stop, and then do the exact same thing as you are experiencing, other times mine wil do that when it is hot, and sitting in stop and go traffic.. it'll quit, then do what yours is doing, and sometime it'll do it three times and I have to open the trottle a bit like you do to keep it running.. I think it may have somthing to do with our idle air control.. I think your has something similar too.. But I get no error codes at all....

Fast take a screw driver and tap your maf/map maf if before 89 and map if after that is while the car is running and if it stutteres you need to replace that the maf is 59 bucks not sure on the map. I don't think that is what mines problem is though Its a new one Although I'm pulling a code34. I've tapped mine and un hooked everything and it still runs. When my maf went out I had your problem though stop at a sign and have to keep my foot on the gas to not have it die. So its a good possibility thats what yours is even though there is not any codes.
