Dynomax - is it quiet?
I'm looking at the Dynomax Cat-back. There is a choice of the super turbo muffler, or the ultra flo muffler. I'm looking for something quite. which muffler is quieter? not dronning, but peaceful. anyother recomadations for a quite but flowing cat-back system.
I'd keep my OE system, but my intermidate pipe just blew out by the Dual cats.
thx

Dynomax ultra-turbo is about as quiet as it gets, unless you take the cats out .

My super turbo is not all that quiet. It has probably around 10,000 miles on it.
Oh, and I have stock exhaust manifolds, cat, and pipes. (305 TBI)

had my super turbo catback for 5 years and it is very mellow and sounds great on the gas but I am switching to something wilder because there is one thing I dont like about my dynomax -- it is not low enough. when I listen to other systems like the flows and hookers they have a much lower boomier tone that I like.
the dynomax sounds more like an open exhaust with a huge cam-- just air escaping -- no real earth shaking RUMBLE.
there is one advantage that the dynomax system has -- I think its the highest flowing crossflow system. good HP boost.

free mods, dynomax catback, urethane motor+trans mounts, PST front end poly stuff, Earl's hyperflex brake lines SSM SFCs, Bilsteins very trick homemade ramair, Accel 300+ ignition system. Ported plenum, intake and heads with 1.94I valves.
Planning: Heddman 1-5/8 longtubes, NOS 150 plate, replace the "peanut"! and Eibach Sportlines.
