LSA Question
What are the differences between a 110 LSA and a 114 LSA Hyd roller cam beside the fact the the 114 will provide better vacuum and spread the rpm range out more than the 112 or 110 LSA?
I have read up on much of this but am not seeing any clear answers except that a 110 will be more difficult to tune because of the lower vacuum due to higher overlap. Fuel may be better atomized due to the increased "EGR" effect and could be the reason they are used, don't know.
Allot of guys here seem to run the 110 versions, I don't know why if the only advantage is a more pointed torque range and more difficulty getting it to idle The 114 has a wider rpm range.
I'm asking because I've narrowed my cam search down to the Comp Cams 220/230 with 114 LSA but what to know if there is something I'm leaving on the table if I don't go with the 110-112 versions of the same duration or go back to the 218/224 cam with 110 LSA.(maybe 112)
I will be changing springs if needed to match the setup so that won't need to be part of this.
Opinions are fine but I'd like to keep this techical and factual.
TIA,
Jp

OK, I found a decent article while browsing that shed some light on the subject. It appears to all be overlap related and will change effects on evry grind out there.
