what is the pressure relief of the mv55 oil pump spring?
??? also, the mr gasket #26 is 60lbs, right? What pressure are you guys idling at with each spring?

never used stock spring, with the mr gasket spring every engine i've put it in pegs the gauge cold and will carry 30 to 50 hot. lot depends on the quality of the gauge you're using since the factory set up isn't known for great accuracey.

ede's got you covered. I've always heard the pressure relief is designed for 60#, but I'm not sure if that is correct.
The actual pressure will depend on the viscosity of the lubricant used as well as other factors. I make 65# in my half-truck with a stock pump/spring and 20W50 Mobil 1.

With that pump I'm at about 52psi at 2200 highway and about 24psi idling at 750. Those figure are with a hot motor and on a standard 383. We installed the same pump in my GF's stock 350 TPI and the pressures are identical (give or take 1 or 2psi) This is with Exxon 10w-30 also
