Transmission: Built 700r4/Pro Yank 3400 Extreme
Axle/Gears: 9-Bolt 3.27
Help me pick a cam.

I can't decide on what cam to get, actually I have no idea what to get.

-3470010 350ci 4 bolt mains.
-Bored .040 over.
-GM Forged Crank 1182 casting I beleive.
-Havn't decided on the rods.
-Hyper_____? pistons
Compression will be in the 9's:1
-Moly rings

Heads/Induction
-Stock heads (083's) will be mild ported, and matched to the Stealth ram's intake gasket of felpro 1205. (can't aford anything decent right now so not wasting a lot of cash on these.)
-Holley Stealth Ram

This is a 1987 Trans am GTA. MAF car.
Currently do not have tuning stuff because I sold it.. because I didnt need it.. car was going back to stock. I didnt plan on my engine breaking. So I will purchase tunning stuff again, but I want it to run without a tune.

Hydraulic tapplet. (non-roller) Camshaft is what I need.

I will probally be purchasing a stall converter.
Car will be Street/Strip daily driven in the non-winter months.

Car: 87 Berlinetta,work in progress
Engine: 468 BB,still in the build process
Transmission: TH350,3500 stall
Axle/Gears: 9" Ford,learning how to live under
IMO,I'd call a tech line,(choose your favorite cam manufacturer),as long as you know what length rod your going to run, tell them your combo, gearing, and intended use, they are tons of help.I sometimes disagree with their choice, but only because I'm that picky.I think if you do this, you'll find a nearly perfect cam.(you'll only get the "perfect" cam after several swaps and days on a dyno)

This is what comp cams recomended:
Comp 268XFI

Duration at 050 inch Lift: 224 int./231 exh.
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.520 int./0.515 exh. lift
113 LSA

Requires exhaust upgrade, larger fuel injector, intake manifold plenum, and aftermarket computer chip.

Opinions?

Axle/Gears: 3.70 Nine Bolt
Good cam but the duration does not jive with what I have seen. I believe that is a 218/224 cam. Also the lift looks to be on the high side for stock heads. I see mechanical binding in your future.

I'm looking into the hydraulic roller version 268XFI HR13 cam myself.

The XFI cams are roller cams. Try the regular XE268 (12-242-2) or the computer controlled XE268 (12-268-4) The computer controlled version will be happier with FI because it has less overlap with a 114* LSA compared to the 110* of the regular XE268 cam.

If your feeling lucky go with the XM270 (12-240-4) its a etreme marine cam but has 112* lsa.

Actually this is probably what i would go with if i were you. It has a little more intake duration and alot more exhaust duration. This will work well with stock head exhaust ports.
