76 350 engine with 700r4 tranny

I just purchased a 76 350 engine for my camaro... and it doesnt seem that when i bolt up the tranny, the torque converter bolts dont line up right.. i have to pull on the torque converter to get the bolts to go in.. dont know if this is right.. so any help is greatly appreciated!

make sure the conveter snout is seating in the back of the crank all the way

try the flyweel off of the 305.
