Installing a new intake manifold

ok guys, just bought a new performer intake manifold for my 305 and im gonna put the new one on but i need to know how to mark the distributor rotor so when i put it back in everything lines up and timed right.

before I do anything like that. I'd put the motor at #1 tdc just as a reference point. I'd take the cap off and mark the position of the rotor on the distributor housing.

Don't forget to mark the position of the rotor when you pull it up. It will move slightly when it is lifted out. Make sure the rotor is on the second mark when you drop it back in and it will line up with you first mark.
