I got a sound not allowing me to run car
Ok this might be kinda long. I redlined my car in 2nd gear(5spd.,TPI for reference)and then it died. I didn't go past red line it died while i was shifting. But now i got a wierd clanking sound on the passenger side of my block when i start the car. It will stay started for a while then it will die w/ no oil pressure. i pulled the valve cover and checked to see if i had collapsed a lifter, and all the valves were lifting. Could i have a bent rod, or something and how would i check with out having to rip apart anythign unless i have to. Thanks a lot in advance.

You may have thrown a rod. Check the oil for metal shavings. You also could have spun a bearing, but I wouldnt think it would make a loud clanking noise. I think something is definitely messed up bad though.

Sounds like it spun a rod bearing. That's a fairly terminal engine illness. Pull off the oil filter, pour out the oil into a clear glass jar or something like that and see if there's any metal particles in it; if there are, then your motor has gone to the big motor home in the sky.
