How do I get my 305 TBI to be faster without a lot of dough
I have a 91 305 TBI, I have a performance intake manifold, open cat, performance muffler, TPI fuel pump,an open element, and the SS scoop hood. I was wanting to know how i can make it faster without spending a ton of money. Whether this means engine swap or just adding to what i already have. I am open to suggestions. Thanks.

TGO welcomes you!
Take some of your time to read through the top threads (stickies) in the TBI forum. They go into great detail about your car and what makes TBI cars tick. The beauty of modding your 305 TBI is that you can swap parts onto a larger/better motor down the road.

a nitrous system would be perfect for the occasional boost that you might want. I was too in high school when I had my camaro and I just put an 100 shot on the motor and I used it when I raced someone and I still am using the same motor 7 years and 70000 mile later. Besides it looks real cool to people when they look inside and see a big NOS bottle in the hatch.

I say dump your current exhaust setup completely and buy some shorty style headers along with a 3" exhaust. A good set of headers will set you back approximately $300-$500 depending on the brand and size of the headers, and a 3" catback will be about the same. Altogether, you'll end up spending somewhere around $600-$1000, but you'll pick up a good amount of horsepower (a lot of people estimate up to 30 HP depending on how bad your current exhaust restricts flow, but I think that's a bit generous).
The great thing about this mod is that if you plan on doing more performance work on your car as it stands, or if you decide to upgrade to a larger small block later on down the road, your exhaust will already be up to par. Again, this is only what I've read but 3" exhaust supposedly flows good enough to handle up to ~400HP.
I'm ordering some Hooker 2055's later next week and having them Jet-Hot ceramic coated, along with a 3" catback (haven't decided which one I want yet). Looking to get some power out of my measly LG4.
