I am having really bad vapor lock with my fuel line as far as i can get it from my headers, i know nothing about electric fuel pumps, but could i put a external one at the end of the sending unit lines?? or is it possible to put one in the tank on a carbed 82?? any help is appreciated, by the way ive heard of a mech/electrical fuel pump setup on some thirdgens?? any help is appreciated thanks

Yea it's possible to install an in-tank electric "pusher" pump. All carb'd models post-86 got just this, for your exact issue, as you have already heard. You may consider just putting an aftermarket pump such as one that Holley offers (red or blue) and install that somewhere down by the tank.
Have you tried a heat wrap around the fuel lines? There are several different kinds, but the idea is the same. Isolate the wrapped lines from the heat they are subsequentally exposed to.
