Axle/Gears: Economy gears..once again, WHY?!?
Not sure about the 88 setup, but on most for several years, it should be on the drivers side firewall on a bracket with possibly 2 other relays. If there is 3 relays there, it should be the middle one. At least it is on my 86 305 tpi. You could also try and find a wiring diagram or a repair manual with a componet locator. Good luck!

relays
I was curious about the same thing on my 88 Iroc. I was playing with those relays by the brake booster, there are 3 of them. Two of them are the power and burn off relays for the maf, the other is supposed to be the fuel pump relay, funny thing is,,,,,when I have them all unplugged the fuel pump still runs normal I posted about this once before and no one really had an answer for me. Still not sure where that sucker is Hopefully your question will be answered and help both of us.
