ok so i get a compression check?
I'm not familiar with this all but, say i get a compression check and he says i got problems, how much would it cost to fix it, saying like, i got some bad rings, can they be fixed and how much would it cost?

If you have some bad rings, basically you need to get your engine rebuilt.. If I was you I would ditch the 305, find a low mileage 350 and buy it, and pay someone to put that in for you. That would probably be cheaper. I've never had an engine rebuilt, and it really depends on the shop, but its going to be over $1000.
