Is there is Distributorless Ignition system available for TPI Cars?

I would love to be able to get rid of my distributor and change the system over to DIS. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

Try Electromotive, they have a web page under their name.

Thats Electromotives site. I'd get a Tec-2 from them... kinda pricey though... like $1600. It controls fuel and ignition.

I've seen people chop off the distributor and plug the hole (in the distributor) and stick it back in the engine and bolt the hold down back on to fix that problem. Just because the distributor doesnt fire any spark doesnt prevent you from throwing the whole thing in there for oil pump purposes.

As for DIS, I read something a few months ago kinda interesting, and I dont see why it wouldnt work if the information is correct. Do a search looking for Ranger, Turbo, DIS, etc etc... yea, its Ford stuff but who cares? I *think* it may have been one of those nuts who has a Mercury Zepher or similar with turbos that I found the link from... Supposedly there is a setup used on the Fords that can be used as a stand-alone, and just as a little FYI, if its the setup on my 92 Ranger 4 banger, that engine has 8 plugs so firing a V8 might actually work...

More than I want to think about right now...

If the Electromotive conversion works like the DIS on my GN and TTA, a cam sensor replaces the distributor which has the drive groove for the oil pump. There is also a crank sensor that goes on the harmonic balancer. These two are used to determine when the coil should fire and if you convert to Sequential Injection, then it also aids in determining when to open the injector.

Thanks for the input. $1600 is kinda pricey for me right now.
