valve guide seals touching springs and wont stay on the boss
I have a problem with my valve guides staying on the guide boss. My valve springs are a double spring set, Comp Cams, and the inside springs touches the viton seals and works them up the valve stems. My valve guide bosses are not machined and I am trying to find a way to keep my seals on the boss. I was thinking maybe forcing a .530 seal on the stock sized boss and see if it would stay in place.

You're using the rubber type that simply stretches over the stock un-machined guide boss? The kind with the little metal "spring" around the outside to keep the seal tight around the guide boss?
If so.... junk. I couldn't keep those damned things down where they belonged on enough sets of heads that I gave up on them. On any given head about 1/2 of them would "ride up" the valve stem in a few hundred miles like a bad pair of underwear. Good idea that doesn't seem to work so well in the real world.
I now get all my heads machined down for GOOD quality seals and haven't had a problem since.

The spring ID and the seal OD are too close to the same.
Basically, those seals aren't meant to work with double springs.
As said, get the guides machined down to one of the common sizes for "real" seals (either .501" or .531" OD); and use the appropriate seals.
