Elgin brand engine parts any good?
Hello, anyone know if these are junk or good or what looking at valve springs retainers and stuff, at stormspeed.com prices are very cheap. thanks, Dave

They make alot of stock replacement parts, as well as bulk-packed stuff that the aftermarket mfrs. repackage. For instance, Comp used to use their flat hydraulic lifters (last I checked they are using Sealed Power now though).
The stuff you're talking about from them is reliable but strictly stock replacement parts. Nothing special necessarily, in the case of springs they're not performance ones at all, but for some parts, they can be an excellent source.
Don't buy valve train parts, especially springs, on the low bid. Good ones are worth what they cost.
