Electric water pumps?

Electric water pumps?
Are these a gimmick or do they actually free up horsepower? I mean I'd assume considering the belt is turning them, which steals some power.

Not a gimmick. I'm not sure exactly how much horsepower it will give you back, but I'll bet it isnt much (but every bit counts). Most of the ones I've seen are mostly for racing applications, as they have a much shorter lifespan than mechanical pumps, therefore making them not as practical for street use. I belive Meziere makes pumps that have a decent enough lifespan to use on the street.

no.. i dont believe the cost is justified for the hp.. there is no easy way to lots of power, you have to wind up doing some decent mods(heads/cam and so on) at some point, might as well stop trying to get around the matter now and go ahead and do something big(er)
