Anyone know how to make a belt stay on?

I have a belt problem. These things keep coming off. I have a Moroso deep groove racing pulley and everything. I have lined it up with string and everything. All of my brackets are tight. I have used all brands of belts. It is a V-belt setup. Any suggestion?

Do you have an oil leak? I have an 88 dodge that leaks from the main seal onto the alternator belt which makes the belt expand over time and slip. Just a thought

Thats really weird, all that I could think of is maybe one of the pulleys got kicked down and is at a shi**y angle now. That could cause the belt to slip off after a while. Check the pulleys with a level and make sure that they are riding right. I've never heard of belts just falling off... I suppose if that doesn't solve it you could hire a midget to hold the belt in place while your driving down the road, but if he slips thats gonna stink like a b*tch.

Every time I have seen belts come off it was because of a misalignment of one of the pulleys or worn or wobbly pulleys, find a good FLAT metal straight edge and check the pulleys that way for alignment, a string is not as good.

Make sure your pulleys are completely aligned all the way around, not just at the top. Maybe one of your accessories is angled out at the bottom.
