Loctite on Starter bolts?
I have searched and searched and can't find. I am replacing my original LG4 starter with a new summit mini high-torque starter (SUM-G1660A). Should I use loctite on my new starter bolts?
thanks,
phil

I'm no expert and have never used a mini-starter, but I've never heard of anyone using Loc-Tite on starter bolts. I'd think you should be fine by just properly tightening the bolts.
Starter bolts seem to be slightly different than normal bolts, in that they have splines running the length of the bolt between the threads and the head.

There are bolts specifically for the starter. They are made in a way, that the starter will not be able to shift even a little bit after its been installed, as the bolts have a very tight fit in the starter holes.

Most mini-starters use standard type bolts with lockwashers as the knurled factory bolts are the wrong length. If that's the case I would make sure to use the lockwashers and add a little loc-tite for security once you have it shimmed up.
