some people put it on the fender, some wedge it on the firewall somewhere. most pics i've seen of them have them on the back of either fender. i dont have a thirdgen right now, but i put mine on my firewall beside the distributor

I yanked my coolant reservoir, and put my MSD 6AL box there. I mounted it lengthwise, so you can read the MSD label from the driver's side fender. I made a bracket to go between the lowermost part of the box and the inner wheel well, and bolted the top of the box dirctly to the wheel well.
(edit: Otherwise, the curve of the inner wheel well is too great for the ignition box; the wheel well smacks the center of the box. This way I could get the two "upper" bolt holes laid down directly on the inner fender; and the bracket took up the space between the "lower" bolt holes and the wheel well. The center of the box sits up about 1/2 inch off the curve of the wheelwell.)
I then bought a small coolant recovery tank out of JC Whitney (I've seen them in local stores, too) and wedged it next to my charcoal vapor canister. I should really bolt the thing down one of these days; it's held there with safety wire.
