Reset Change Oil Lamp

Just changed oil in '99 Camaro. How do you reset the "Change Oil" lamp in the dash?

Thanks

Not many people are going to know here, cause this is a THIRD gen board. You probably want to try another board for your car. And a mod is gonna yell at you.

1.) Turn ignition key to RUN position, but don't start it.
2.) Quickly blip gas pedal to WOT and back to idle 5x
3.) The door chime will beep 5 times rapidly to acknowledge
4.) Oil Life Monitor is now reset
5.) Use ls1tech.com or ls1.com for 4th gen car questions, this isn't the right place

It's not a bulb unfortunately. It's a small LED panel that can display a variety of messages....CHANGE ENGINE OIL, LOW ENGINE OIL, LOW WASHER FLUID, etc.

The gas pedal blip procedure is in the owners manual, 2nd least-used original equipment item on most cars.*

*the most unused original equipment item being the turn signals

Thanks.

It is a 3.8L, and we don't have an owner's manual. I will have my son try these solutions when he gets home from work.

BTW - My newest vette is a C5, and my last one was a C4, but I wouldn't know a 3rd gen camaro from a 4th gen.
