What IsIt???
since my X-treme filter lid is a no go i want to get as much air flow as possible. the ring in the pic....What is it.....Do i need it.....and how do i remove it......

ditch the cover and go get a h.o instead. they have the duel snorkels on it so you can pick up more air

EDIT: o ya, i still need to know what this ring thing is....i looked at every page of my haynes manual and it doesn't show that part at all.....was this something aftermarket that was added???

Pry that thing off with a screw driver(its glued on). You will get a massive increase in air flow! I had one on my H.O. when I had it.
